“Just as biodiversity will make for a more wholesome natural environment, social diversity will also contribute to a more vibrant society,” Professor Alan Chan, CUHK Provost and J. S. Lee Professor of Chinese Culture stressed the importance of diversity.

Professor Chan expressed the view that, if we embrace diversity, we need to make sure that there is inclusion. “Inclusion really means being open, being respectful, being patient, willing to listen, recognising that everybody has something to contribute to the betterment, not only of the University, but to society as a whole.”
