Prof. Cheung Chan-fai on "The Third Age"

Participated by over 160 alumni and friends, the I·CARE Alumni Talk entitled 'Life is a Marathon' was held on Saturday, 19 March 2016 at Cho Yiu Hall of CUHK. Professor Cheung Chan-fai, Adjunct Professor of the Department of Philosophy of CUHK is one of the speakers who shared with the audience views on the intrinsic meaning and values of life.

Professor Cheung explained the concept of 'Third Age' by taking reference to a book entitled Cato Maior de Senectute (On Old Age) written by renowned Roman philosopher Marcus Tullius Cicero. Professor Cheung said, "Facing the problem of population ageing, the society shall provide more opportunities for the 'Third Agers' to engage not only in leisure activities, but also scholarly exchange and academic research".
