2023 TERMIS-AP Conference concludes in success

The four-day Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine International Society – Asia Pacific Conference 2023 (2023 TERMIS-AP) hosted by CUHK came to a successful conclusion on 19 Oct. Nearly 1,000 global scholars and industry professionals from 38 regions engaged in a wide array of diverse programmes including plenary lectures, discussion sessions, presentations and exhibitions. This conference provided ample opportunities for the leading minds in the area to forge new connections to advance human health together.
At the closing ceremony, Professor Rocky S. Tuan, Vice-Chancellor and President of CUHK said, “CUHK is proud to stand at the forefront of this transformative field. I am sure the conference has successfully promoted the exchange of ideas and knowledge on the latest developments of tissue engineering and regenerative medicine and sparked new collaborations for safeguarding human health.”
Professor Tuan mentioned that there are “3Rs” in tissue engineering and regenerative medicine—repair structurally, restore functionally and regenerate holistically. He added, “I am going to add two more ‘Rs’. The fourth one is ‘recreate’ experimentally. The final ‘R’ is ‘reconnect’ professionally and personally. With this meeting, we have reconnected as well.”
